The lyrics reflect how I was feeling &#8211; which was abandoned and alone. The lyrics do seem a little dark, but really were not meant to be taken that way &#8211; the main point being an expression of feeling hurt. My best friend ghosted me, then another close friend did the same. My relationship with my father was to the point that we were really not speaking.
